The mission of Women In Psychiatry is to support the needs of women doctors working and training in psychiatry
The idea for Women in Psychiatry was born out of a conversation between the two founding members Drs. Goldschlager and Shetty in early 2018. The conversation went from a discussion on gender based hardships and the need for support and advocacy to hang on, we can do something about this and if not now then when. Unsurprisingly many other women felt the same and the group Women In Psychiatry [WIP] came to life.
An inaugural networking event to launch WIP was held in May 2019.
